Joanne Sherwood, who was promoted to president & CEO of Citywide Banks in January 2019, was unanimously elected on May 31, 2019, as Chair of the Colorado Bankers Association (CBA). She is the first woman to lead CBA in 20 years and the second ever in the organization’s long history. Sherwood will serve a one-year leadership term.
CBA represents more than 95-percent of the 135 banks in Colorado, which account for $146 billion in assets, 1,492 branches and 21,944 banking professionals. The organization focuses on creating a stronger economy and helping Coloradans realize dreams by building better banks.
“I am honored to take over as Chair,” commented Sherwood. “The CBA is a well-respected organization that not only provides support and resources for the member banks, but is also an active advocate for our clients. As an industry, we have an obligation to serve and support the consumers and businesses in our community and the CBA has been a meaningful partner toward this mission.”
Sherwood’s community involvement extends beyond her CBA leadership. She is also currently active with Denver Hospice and Arrupe Jesuit High School.
