Citywide Banks Announces Seven Nominees for
Our $10,000 Charity Hand-Up Contest


Citywide Banks employees have nominated seven Colorado nonprofits to compete for $10,000 in donations in the bank’s Charity Hand-Up Contest from October 30 through November 19 on social media. The nominees are Clothes to Kids Denver, Easterseals Colorado, Epic Experience, Foster Source, Grand Foundation, Step Denver, and Summit Dog Rescue. The community is invited to participate by voting on Facebook and helping raise awareness of these impactful causes.

The charity that receives the most votes through the bank’s Facebook voting page will receive a $7,000 cash donation from Citywide Banks. An additional $3,000 in donations will be split between the other nominees based on final vote standings. Users simply need to log into their personal Facebook account starting October 30 through November 19 from a computer or smartphone, and visit Click on the "Charity Contest" tab. One vote/entry per person is permitted during the contest. After voting on Facebook, users can use the sharing buttons to easily invite their Facebook friends to vote for their favorite charity.

  • $7,000 donation – Charity with most contest votes
  • $1,000 donation – Runner-up charity in vote standings
  • $1,000 donation – Third place charity in vote standings
  • $250 donation – Awarded to remaining charities for participating

Clothes to Kids

Clothes to Kids of Denver proudly provides school clothing and a shopping experience for Denver Metro children and youth in need, completely FREE of charge. Students ages 3-21 are invited to browse in their 3,000 square-foot boutique for 5 outfits, 1 pair of shoes, 1 coat and 5 pairs each of new socks and underwear. It envisions a community where all students have the clothing they need to feel comfortable, confident and prepared to thrive.

Easterseals Colorado partners with individuals, families and the community to reduce the impact of disability or health challenges on their lives. Their goal is to enhance clients’ quality of life and create opportunities for them to achieve greater independence through wellness, employment, respite and recreation.

Epic Experience

Epic Experience offers free week-long outdoor experiences to adults who have been diagnosed with cancer. Experiences are based upon outdoor adventure activities such as whitewater adventures during the summer months and snowshoeing in the winter months. Participants are encouraged to recognize the reality that cancer is a part of their story, but it no longer defines them. Connections with other individuals who share a similar story will create a community that lasts long after their Epic Experience has ended.

Foster Source

Foster Source serves foster families throughout Colorado. The organization provides free trainings and support groups (with childcare), meets needs and grants wishes. Their trainings teach foster parents how to best parent children from traumatic backgrounds. The organization provides everything from weighted blankets and car seats to summer camp and equine therapy scholarships. 92% of Foster Source families say its services have equipped them with the skills and confidence to foster longer than they anticipated.

The Grand Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life in Colorado’s Grand County by proactively addressing current and future needs in the areas of health and human services, arts and culture, education, amateur sports, and environment. The foundation facilitates philanthropy by fostering and building donor relationships to act as a catalyst for community investment and involvement. Grand Foundation events raise awareness and funds that combined with its donor advised funds and other planned giving initiatives, enable it to provide grants to nurture and support qualified local nonprofits.

Step Denver is a men’s residential recovery community that helps low income men overcome the consequences of addiction and rebuild their lives through a unique program of sobriety, work and accountability. Summit Dog Rescue, Boulder, Colorado is a 501c3 non-profit dog rescue dedicated to a mindful, holistic approach to rescuing great dogs (and an occasional lucky kitty) and adopting them into exceptional fur-ever homes. Its goal is not to do high volume dog adoptions, but rather to rescue great dogs and find them incredibly well matched, loving and committed forever homes.
