For more than a decade, Citywide Banks has supported the Gabby Krause Foundation and Bags of Fun. The Colorado nonprofit delivers personalized backpacks full of games, electronics, books, and toys to help tap the healing power of play in children battling cancer and other serious illnesses. Citywide Banks is a 2017 Community Partner with the group.

"Our community is blessed to have the dedicated team at Bags of Fun," commented Steve Ebner, marketing director at Citywide Banks. "It is wonderfully humbling to see the joy that these surprise bags can bring the children and their family members. Our bank's employees and leadership continue to participate with bag deliveries, event volunteering, and financial support. We thank Bags of Fun for all that they do."

Gabby Krause was an amazing six-year-old who died in 2004 after a courageous 19-month battle with brain cancer. It was Gabby's wish that every child at the hospital could have their very own Bag of Fun to help them through the fight of their lives.

Bags of Fun are backpacks filled to the brim with educational toys and electronics suitable for a hospital setting. Each bag is carefully crafted for each child, taking into consideration the best means to reduce the child’s tension, anxiety and fatigue as they fight long-term and life-threatening diseases. The goal is to give these kids the tools to play when they feel at their worst, reducing their stress, increasing their will, and building the confidence they need to fight.
